The Tuesday Painting at the Library is now continuing as a regular weekly event for artists who have their own supplies and want to connect with other artists by painting together. The Arts Council’s Courthouse Gallery and Artists of Merritt online, are other ways that artists can become involved in the local art scene.

Nicola Naturalist Society Meeting - Tracy Wimbush (Nicola Tribal Association) will speak on "Salmon and Salmon Habitat in the Nicola Valley". Thursday January 19th at 7 PM, NVIT Lecture Theatre. Tracy Wimbush works with many organizations to maintain and recover salmon populations in our local waters. She has been actively working to conserve and rebuild the local Early Chinook Stock that return to the Nicola River system. She is a dynamic and knowledgeable speaker. All welcome - membership or donation requested.

8th Annual Christmas Light Tour

The Nicola Valley Transportation Society will be holding the 8th Annual Christmas Light Tour from December 16th to December 18th, 2016. The bus will leave from the Transit Office at 6:00 p.m. sharp and will tour until 7:30 p.m.

The Bus Ride:

You must reserve one of the twenty seats for each night

The cost of the tour this year is $ 5.00 which will be donated to the food bank.  Persons interested in taking the tour must register and pick up a ticket by noon of the day you wish to book. Seats are non-refundable and if the seat isn’t paid and picked up by noon the seat will be given to someone on the reserve list.  Contact Community Futures or the Transit Office BEFORE the day you wish to take the tour.

Meet at the Community Futures\Transit Office (City Hall parking lot). The bus will load at approximately 5:45 p.m. and the tour will leave at 6:00 p.m. and run for about 1 ½ hours.
