Mother’s Day is Sunday May 13^th 2018.

Moms are amazing, aren’t they? Who else would do your washing, cook you delicious Sunday dinners, pick you up every time you fall, be a constant shoulder to cry on and still fuss and worry about you long after you’ve grown up and left home? There are many ways to celebrate Mother’s Day in Merritt and we feel no matter what you end up doing for Mother’s Day the best thing is to spend time together.

Below is a few suggestions of things for you and your mother to enjoy this upcoming Mother’s Day in Merritt BC.

• A Picnic in the Park
  • The City of Merritt has 7 developed parks to choose from which can be found at www.merritt.ca/city-services/public-works/parks

• Annual Mother’s Day Tea at the Baillie House
  • Come by and enjoy lunch at the Baillie House with your Mom! Spot available for $15 at 11:30 and 1:30. Drop by the Baillie House by Wednesday, May 9^th 6pm to confirm your spot! For more info call 250-378-0349.

• Tea and a Mural Stroll
  • Grab a beverage and goodie along with a copy of the new 2018 Merritt and Nicola Valley Visitor Guide to explore some of the maps such as: the Merritt Walk of Stars and Murals, City of Merritt Walking Routes, and Merritt Heritage Walking Tour. Tourism Merritt is pleased to partner with the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and is now able to offer the Rod Loan Program. These are available at the Baillie House Information Booth starting December 2016.

The Rod Loan Program gives the opportunity to those looking to fish, but may not have their own equipment, the chance to fish. The special focus of this program is aimed towards families to encourage an interest in fishing with a new generation.
